A Journey Towards Simple

Updated: Sep 29, 2022

Welcome friends. As a wife and working mom of two, volleyball coach, part time entrepreneur and full time friend, my life is always full and often overflowing. There are so many positive aspects to my daily life but also many times where life just feels overwhelming. I started on this path towards a more managable life and I invite you to watch and participate in the journey.

My journey towards a more simplified life started by chance. In 2015, as I lay recovering from surgery, I craved something to make my life easier. My life felt too complicated trying to balance my kids activities, a demanding job, home life while trying to be a loving spouse and partner. During this imposed down time, I started reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo. I can only describe what I felt as the book sparked something deep within me. It articulated what I had difficulty pinpointing. My clutter, my excess, my collection was a distraction and it was weighing me down physically and mentally. That was the moment the rightsizing journey began.

Less is More

This journey is teaching me the value of finding more in less. I no longer need a wardrobe of half worn clothes. I keep the ones that I love the most and make me feel my best. I don't need extravagent vacations to post on social media, my favorite place to go is the nearest beach, though I don't object to beaches on islands :). This journey towards rightsizing my life is teaching me to appreciate the simpler aspects of life and to eliminate the complex.

Food for Thought

I've heard a quote that has resignated with me. It says, "It is simple to be happy, but difficult to be simple." My journey towards a simple life is showing me all the joy that exists in simplicity. My path is not straight or easy but I'm enjoying every step. Happiness in simplicity.
